Orange Sierra Leone Media Coordinating Group Football Club with sponsorship from Orange Sierra Leone has hosted the Arts Center Football club to a thrilling friendly encounter at the Saint Edwards Secondary School playing field Kingtom over the weekend.
The friendly football match was full of fun and laughter as journalists from various media houses both electronic and print have turned up to grace the occasion.
Aruna Patrick Kamara of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation scored the first goal in the match in the 33rd minute of the game putting the journalist football team ahead.
Arts Center football later equalized at the end of the first half leveling the match.
At the start of the second half, Arts Center football team took advantage of a defensive blunder and thundered home another goal putting his team ahead of the match.
Emmanuel C. Thorli, nightwatch Newspaper’s Managing Editor and proprietor leveled the goal line by scoring the second goal for his side making it 2-2.
Aruna Patrick Kamara who scored the first goal dedicated it to Eddie Gbla of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service who left us quite recently to join eternity.
The scribe for the newly found organization Ralph Simeon Sesay told this medium that they have sourced funding from Orange Sierra Leone to be able to host the football match.
He recounted that both teams were later entertained after the friendly match and he further noted that they are grateful for the sponsors and are hoping that the event would be an annual one which will bring journalist together.
He thanked Orange Sierra Leone for taking time to sponsor such an event which brings all journalists together in unity and strength.
Hilton John of Star Radio/TV coordinated the entire function and was full of praise for the level of comrade that was exhibited by his colleagues and the other side during the encounter.
He stated that Orange Sierra Leone was always critical in ensuring that the welfare of journalists and all and sundry is catered for.
