Sierra Leone’s biggest mobile operator, Orange-Sierra Leone from the Orange Money Department, has, on Tuesday October 13th, 2020, officially launched the end-of-year promotion for its valued customers at their Bo office. A host of dignitaries were present during the launching.
In her statement, while launching the promotion, ‘Orange Money Shorki Love’ (which means surprise), the Board Chairman who also double as the Chief Executive Officer Orange Sierra Leone, Aminata Kane Ndiaye, said that Bo is a special place and ‘it is in everyone’s heart’. She went on to congratulate its Field Service Agents (FSA) for their tremendous work in helping Orange to grow to 2.5 million subscribers and, by December 2020, they have committed to have three million subscribers.
She added that COVID-19 has been hard for most of the people. She prayed for those who have lost their lives during these hard times and asked that their souls rest in peace.
“We are the number one telecommunication in the country. We are almost at the end of the year, and we are leaders in this market. We have three months to the end of the year. And we want to achieve our target of reaching three million subscribers at the end of the year 2020,” she said.
She noted that Orange SL is here to change the lives of its customers and to give them better life.
The Chief Executive Officer of Orange Money, David Mansaray, said the launching was a good day for Orange Money and they are very happy. He said that the concept behind the promotion is to share love with their valued customers in the range of three billion Leones cash prize, inclusive of five cars and other prizes that will be given out during the promotion.
According to him, this is quite a huge promotion, which has never happened in the history of any mobile money transaction. He however said that the launching was done in Bo and it will cut across the country. They will be visiting Kenema today and the coming days in other areas; because it is for every Sierra Leonean to benefit from the promo and he said persons holding Orange Money account stand a big chance to win.
He said that the whole idea of the promo is to share love with their customers “as we are still in the coronavirus pandemic.” He said they know people are going through a lot of challenges but, with this promo, customers will win from Le500,000, upwards including a brand new car.
Explaining about the promotion, Abibatu Baxter, Orange Money’s head of Strategic Marketing and Partnership, said that the promotion is one of its kind as it is called Orange Money Shorki Love (which means surprise) for its valued customers, who will have the opportunity to win three billion Leones inclusive of five brand new cars.
He said customers can win these prizes for the next three months, starting from today when doing Orange Money transaction on payment of EDSA bills, DSTV and transactions of Orange Money, etc.
She furthered that, with the 2020 COVID-19 in the country, everyone should mask up in order to prevent contracting the virus. “When coronavirus would have left us, everyone will be smiling and Orange is ready to put that smile on the faces of its valued customers,” she detailed.
She said that customers will win five brand new cars as the grand prizes for the next 90 days, adding that the draws will be weekly and will move over to January 2021 with a short code #144#8.
